It is the mission of The Echo, the St. Michael's College online publication, to be accurate, fair and objective in our reporting. We strive to maintain a high level of professionalism in our writing, photojournalism, audio/video content, and Web page design by utilizing staff teamwork.
As an online magazine, we are dedicated to to creative storytelling through the use of multimedia and other interactive elements, some of which are not possible in a print or television medium. It is our promise to deliver a higher level of journalism by using these interactive elements in our publication.
Our intent is to take advantage of the Internet’s pervasiveness by serving not only the needs of our college campus and local community, but also the entire global village.
We depend on our readers to give us feedback so that we can accommodate the needs of our audience and report on stories that relay relevant information to our readers. We welcome new content ideas and accept criticism of our work.
Each semester The Echo is under new leadership and direction of a different staff. As such, it is our hope that we can improve on what our predecessors have left behind. The semester ahead will challenge us and we will strive for journalistic excellence.
