Supersize Me

2004 documentary film written, produced, directed by, and starring Morgan Spurlock, American independent filmmaker.

Follows a 30-day time period during which Spurlock subsists entirely on food purchased exclusively from McDonald's. The film documents this lifestyle's drastic effects on Spurlock's physical and psychological well-being and explores the fast food industry's corporate influence, including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit.


 

Animal House

National Lampoon's Animal House is a 1978 comedy film in which a misfit group of fraternity boys take on the system at their college.

The movie was adapted by Douglas Kenney, Christopher Miller and Harold Ramis from stories written by Miller based on his experiences in the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity at Dartmouth College.

 

 

Trainspotting

A 1996 Academy Award-nominated, BAFTA-winning cult classic film directed by Danny Boyle based on the novel Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh.

The movie is about a group of heroin addicts in late 1980s Edinburgh and their passage through life. It stars Ewan McGregor.

 

 

 

Juno

A 2007 comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody.

Ellen Page stars as the title character, a sharp-tongued teenager confronting an unplanned pregnancy.

 

 

Thirteen

A 2003 autobiographical film based on the director's experiences as a 13-year-old and those around her in the same age group.

The film caused controversy upon its release, dealing with topics such as underage sexual behavior and drug and alcohol abuse.

 

Pretty Woman

A 1990 romantic comedy film. The film centers around the title character, down-on-her-luck prostitute Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts), who is hired by a wealthy businessman and corporate raider, Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), to be his escort for several business functions, and their developing relationship.

Into the Wild

A 2007 Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award-nominated film based on the 1996 non-fiction book of the same name by Jon Krakauer about the adventures of Christopher McCandless.

It was directed by Sean Penn, who also wrote the screenplay, and stars Emile Hirsch, Jena Malone, Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt and Catherine Keener.
