| By Nick Daley Sixteen-year-old junior Patrick Standen was scheduled in October 1980 to start his first varsity football game. But after being tackled in practice, Standen's face was accidentally stepped on by a teammate, “Noodle” Sherwood. Noodle weighed 270 pounds and had broken Standen’s nose - an injury that would become utterly meaningless by the end of the night. (Read more) |
