St. Michael’s students kick off Global AIDS Week

On Nov. 29, St. Michael’s College students held an event to raise money to purchase a generator for an orphanage in Tanzania. The event, "Who Can Turn On the Lights?" raised over $1,500 was enough money to buy the generator. It was held in the McCarthy Arts Center with a large crowd frequently yelling and screaming as 15 contestants competed in a talent show, dance-off and an informational session regarding HIV and AIDS in Tanzania.
